Watch the VideoResponding to Patient Harm with the RLDatix Compassionate Approach.

During this interactive case-based discussion, you will learn about the evolution of approaches to the response to patient harm that is rooted in a non-punitive, fair yet accountable Culture.

The discussion will include the power of empathic and honest communication to patients, families and loved ones after harm and will include issues surrounding the impact of harm events on the emotional well-being of health care workers.

A de-identified case of harm will be used to demonstrate the importance that software solutions play in the facilitation of communication, event reporting and human factors engineering considerations in the principled, comprehensive, and systematic approach to event management. The discussion will also show how the information learned serve as the basis for the development of sustainable change and prevention of future harm.
